Buffy/Malay Fish Owl Ketupa ketupu

The Buffy Fish Owl, also called the Malay Fish Owl, also spelled Fish-owl, is native to Southeast Asia. The genus is sometimes classified as Bubo ketupu as part of the Eagle Owl group. The owl shown is a subspecies of the Buffy Fish Owl, the Sunda Fishing Owl, Ketupa ketupu javanensis.

Diet is mainly fish, using talons near the water surface, but also includes small mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles.
