The Long-legged Buzzard is similar to a large Common Buzzard with longer legs and wings.
As its Latin name indicates, it often has rufous brown colouring. It also often has a pale head, chest and tail.
Its vast range covers North Africa, Southeast Europe, West and Central Asia to China and south to India.
General plumage is too pale to be a White-tailed Eagle.
