The pretty Princess Parrot, more fully called the Princess of Wales Parrot, was named after Princess Alexandra of Denmark
who married Britain's Prince of Wales who became King Edward VII. It is also called the Queen Alexandra Parrot/Parakeet and the Rose-throated Parrot.
It is nomadic, travelling around the western part of central Australia.
The male has brighter colouring of plumage and beak than the female.
