The Story of Abby, Timmy and Peaches

Timmy and Abby, Abbysinian lovebirds.
Timmy, Abbysinian lovebird
Timmy and Abby are Black-winged Lovebirds, also called the Abyssinian Lovebirds. The derivation of Abby's name is obvious. Timmy is the most timid bird I know. Both are male.

Peaches, a bereaved lady Peach-faced Lovebird (her partner passed away), was at first unimpressed with her new flockmates. Now she is in love with Abby, but he is bonded to his friend Timmy.

Unfortunately, with the trauma of a new home, new carer and territorial aviary occupant, it got worse before it got better. Abby was a feather plucker. It was heart-breaking to see it.

But eventually, with their solar fountain showers, a squirrel-baffle to keep wildlife off their figs and Peaches to give them advice and comfort, their plumage improved.

Now their plumage is restored but there is an eternal triangle: Peaches is in love with Abby who is bonded to Timmy who is interested in Peaches but the interest is unrequited.

P.S. After a few years, Abby, who had an underlying health condition, passed away. Now Timmy and Peaches are a couple.
