Hanging Parrots are the only parrots that can sleep upside-down. They also frequently forage upside down
hanging from twigs to reach seeds and buds. The Blue-crowned Hanging Parrot is native to Southeast Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Borneo).
The blue under-wing and under-tail are visible in flight.

Male and female have similar plumage but the male (above) has a stronger blue crown, bright red bib and yellow/orange upper back.
The female (above) has a less-pronounced crown, and may not have a red bib or an orange upper back.
