Emma's Conure, also called the Venezuelan Conure/Parakeet, is native to northern Venezuela.
Emma's Conure with its maroon face, white ear and blue crown, used to be classed as a subspecies of the
White-eared (also called Maroon-faced) Conure but is now mostly classed as a separate species. Confusingly it is/was also
classed by some as a subspecies of the Painted Conure, which itself used to be thought a subspecies of the Maroon-faced/White-eared.
Male and female have the same plumage.
