Timneh (African) Grey Parrot Psittacus (erithacus) timneh

The Timneh (African) Grey Parrot, or Timneh Parrot is native to southern west Africa and western central Africa. It is a little smaller than its more well-known cousin, the (Congo) African Grey, with darker grey plumage, a pinkish upper beak (rather than black) and a maroon tail (rather than bright red).

It is sometimes classed as a subspecies of the African Grey and sometimes given full species status. It is as good a "talker"/mimic and as intelligent as the Congo African Grey.

Male and female have similar plumage.
