The Grey Jungle Fowl, also called Sonnerat's Junglefowl, is, together with the Red and other Junglefowls,
the (part) ancestor of the some Domestic Chickens. It is native to India.
A tropical member of the pheasant family, like pheasants the male (above left/centre) is much more colourful than the female (above right) since
the hen needs camouflage as the sole carer of the eggs and chicks. Like chickens, the cockerel will have a harem of hens.
