Spotted Imperial Pigeon Ducula carola

The Spotted Imperial Pigeon is native to forests of the Philippines and an important disperser of seeds. Adult males are strongly marked as above left with a white neck, grey chest and maroon underside. Females and juveniles have a grey neck without the white upper chest bar and with a pinkish belly but dark vent. They are vulnerable through habitat loss and hunting.
