The Pink-necked Green Pigeon with its soft pastel colours is native to the south of Southeast Asia.
Like other "Green Pigeons" and like Turacos, it is unusual among birds in that its green plumage
is produced by pigment rather than reflected light. A fruit dove, the pigment is derived from its mainly fig diet.
Like the Southeast Asian Fruit Doves, only the male has the colourful plumage; the female is mainly green.
