Azure-winged Magpie Cyanopica cyana/cooki

The Azure-winged Magpie, also called the Blue-tailed Magpie, comes, strangely, from the Iberian Peninsula and eastern Asia. Males and females have similar plumage. Recently the two geographically-separated magpies have been split into two different species on DNA evidence, the European bird being re-named the Iberian Magpie (C. cooki).

Habits and behaviour are similar to those of the European Magpie. Above are pictures of the East Asian Azure-winged Magpie.
