Giant Coua
The Couas are members of the cuckoo family, native to Madagascar with different species using different habitats. They are not brood parasites; they build nests and raise their young. The Giant Coua, the largest species, has a pheasant-type niche: a ground-dwelling bird like the ground cuckoos of Southeast Asia, living in dry forests but nesting in trees.
