Spectacled Warbler Sylvia conspicillata

Male Spectacled Warbler - a study in steel and rust. The Spectacled Warbler is native to southwestern Europe, northern Africa, Mediterranean Islands (west and east), Canary Islands, Madeira and the Cape Verde Islands. Those in Europe migrate to northern Africa in winter.

The Spectacled Warbler looks remarkably similar to the Common Whitethroat but has slightly stronger colour and a slightly more prominent white eyering.
