The BOAT-BILLED FLYCATCHER, Megarynchus pitangua, is a large Tyrant Flycatcher and the only member of its genus. It is present from Mexico to mid South America. It can be distinguished from the Great Kiskadee by its massive, boat-shaped bill and less rufous plumage on wings and tail.

The SOCIAL FLYCATCHER, Myiozetetes similis, has the name "similis" since it is remarkably similar to several related tyrant flycatchers. It is present from Mexico to northern South America. The photos were taken in Costa Rica by Alexandra Makhnina who identifies it as a probable Social Flycatcher because of its region, the rufous wings and its small pointed beak.
