The Common Tailorbird is native to much of tropical Asia.
A small warbler, it is named after its habit of sewing the edges of large leaves together with
plant twine, grass or spiders' web to construct its nest in the sewn leaf.
The photos in the row above were taken by Dr Harsha Vardhan Reddy in India.
All other photos on the page were taken in Singapore, including those immediately above
where a group of tailorbirds (red-headed males, females and juveniles) were able to move in and out of some aviary mesh
to help themselves to the mealworms in the feeding bowls for captive larger birds.
