The Ashy Tailorbird is native to moist tropical/subtropical forests of Southeast Asia. It overlaps habitat with the Common Tailorbird, both named after their habit of sewing the edges of large leaves together with plant twine, grass or spiders' web to construct a nest in the sewn leaf. A small warbler with a red head, here it is extracting insects caught in the mesh.
