Superb Starling Lamprotornis (prev. Spreo) superbus

Both the English and scientific names of the Superb Starling refer to its beautiful plumage blending glossy metallic blue and turquoise with warm russet bordered with white and black (the face).

The eyes have a white iris and black pupil. Male and female have similar plumage.

It is native to East Africa.

It is a good mimic of other birds' sounds.
