Canivet's Emerald Hummingbird, also called Salvin's (somtimes just the southern subspecies) and the Fork-tailed
Emerald, is native to much of Central America from southern Mexico to Costa Rica. It is similar to the Garden Emerald but has a red bill
with black tip (rather than all black bill). The male, shown, has metallic emerald green plumage above and below and a forked tail and
