Red-mantled Rosefinch Carpodacus rhodochlamys
The Red-mantled Rosefinch is native to parts of Central Asia, northern India and Pakistan, and parts
of Russia and China.
Only the adult male, above, has the rose red colouring after which it is named.
The streaky female (or 1st year male), above, is cryptic brown.
The photos were taken in southeast Kazakhstan by Alexandra Makhnina.
