Green Bee-eater Merops orientalis

I am indebted to Dr Harsha Vardhan Reddy for his superb photos (above and below) of the Green Bee-eater in India. It is native to sub-Saharan West Africa through to East Africa, Arabia, the Indian subcontinent and Indo-China.

These wonderful photos show the bee-eater "doing just what it says on the tin" - eating bees.
