Tailless Whip Scorpion Damon variegatus

There are many species of Tailless Whip Scorpion, also called Whip Spider, worldwide. They are nocturnal and often cave-dwelling or under tree bark or leaf litter in tropical and subtropical regions. The one shown is native to East Africa.

They cannot sting like true scorpions and are harmless to humans. They are fast and eat small invertebrates.
