The Imperial Scorpion, also called the Emperor Scorpion, is native to scrub, forest and grasslands of West Africa.
             
			
			
			
            
            
            
            
            
            One of the largest scorpions, it grows to some 20cm long. Unlike some scorpions, its venom, in the sting at the end of its tail,

            Like other scorpions, its black body glows turquoise or green under ultraviolet light. 
            Prey is mainly termites and other invertebrates.
