The Venusta Orchard Orb Weaver spider is a long-jawed orb weaver native to the east coast of northern and central America,
including southern Canada and central USA through to Panama (possibly further to Colombia, or that may be the related L. mariana). The
bright yellow, orange, red and white marks on the body vary in size and shape among individuals.
The spider is harmless to humans. Orb webs are some 2 feet (60cm) in diameter. These photos were taken by
