The Indian Ornamental (Tree) Spider is also called Indian Ornamental Tarantula. It is tree-dwelling,
native to southeastern India and usually eats crickets and cockroaches.
Leg-span can exceed 7 inches (18cm). Females can live for 20 years, males 3-5 years.
It is one of the few large spiders/tarantulas whose bite can be dangerous to humans, causing severe pain, numbness and respiratory difficulty.
