Long-jawed Orb Weaver

The Long-jawed Orb Weavers, Tetragnatha species, have extended jaws; they also have a particularly elongated shape and extend their legs to an even longer shape. This species is also called the Silver Stretch Spider and is native to most of Europe, much of Asia and North Africa. A similar Long-jawed Spider, called the Common Stretch Spider, Tetragnatha extensa, is usually found by water.
