The Furrow Orb Weaver is variable but has a prominent dark "V" pattern on its abdomen. It is also called the Foliate Spider, particularly in North America, due to the strong design. The female hides in a silk tube in the day and builds an orb web in low shrubbery or long grass each evening for catching prey at night.
