Mothercare Spider

This ambitious spider seemed to ambush the much larger ladybird and quickly immobilise it in webbing for a packed lunch.

It is a Mothercare Spider, so called because she takes great care of her spiderlings, protecting them and initially regurgitating food for them before sharing food items with them. She dies as they become independent and they eat her.
