The Common House Spider, also called Domestic House Spider, is native to much of Europe, North Africa and west/Central Asia, and introduced to America and Australasia. It is distinguished from the Eratigena species of Large/Giant House Spiders, by being smaller and having banded (ringed) legs and more parallel carapace markings. The female has a body size of up to 7-10mm long.
