The Yacare or Jacare Caiman is native to northern Argentina, southern Brazil,
Paraguay, Uruguay, southern Bolivia and southeastern Peru, particularly Brazil's Pantanal tropical wetlands
which are said to be home to millions.
It reaches 2-3 metres (6-10 feet) length. Its main diet is fish, especially piranha,
and birds, but larger individuals will even take mammals such as Capybara. They themselves are preyed on
by Anaconda and Jaguar.
