Golden Eyelash Viper Bothriechis schlegelii

The Golden Eyelash Viper, also called just Eyelash Viper and Golden Eyelash Palm Viper, is native to rainforest and palm plantations of Central America and the northern part of South America.

Arboreal and venomous, it is a "pit viper" (has heat-sensitive pits between eye and nostril). Colour can vary from the "Golden" shown to red, green or brown. Females can grow to 30 inches length (75cm) and males to some 18 inches. Diet is small rodents, frogs, lizards and small birds.
