The Aruba Rattlesnake is native to the island of Aruba, off Venezuela. Some include it as a subspecies of
the South American Rattlesnake. Like other rattlesnakes, it is a pit viper (it has a heat-sensing pit between eye and nostril)
but one of the most highly venomous. It is also critically endangered since most of its habitat has gone and it is also caught for the pet trade.
