The Burmese Python is native to much of Southeast Asia from Bangladesh through to southeast China. It used to be classed
(until 2009) as a subspecies of the smaller Indian Python.
It has attractive skin colouring and patterns with dark mahogany blotches on a light background. It is the third largest snake in the world.
It can reach nearly 20 feet (nearly 6 metres) but is typically nearer 12 feet.
Escapees have colonised parts of Florida, USA.
Leucistic/Amelanistic versions are known but uncommon.

Java, Bali, Sulawesi and Sumbawa. It grows to about one and a half metres long.
