Anthill Python
The Anthill Python, native to arid regions of Western Australia, gets its name from its habit of seeking shelter in termite mounds. It also hides in rocky crevices to ambush prey (mainly small reptiles), its red-brown colouring providing camouflage in local rocks. It is also called the Pygmy Python since it is the smallest of the pythons, growing only to about half a metre long.
