The Ornate Flying Snake, also called the Golden Gliding or Golden Tree Snake, is a colubrid snake native to South and Southeast Asia. It has the name "Flying" or "Gliding" since it often launches itself some distance between trees in pursuit of prey or when fleeing predators. It has two main colour forms: the golden-green with black hatching and a black and red heavily-barred variant. It grows to about a metre long.
