The Mangrove Snake, also called the Gold-ringed Cat Snake, is native to Southeast Asia.
Its habitat is rainforest rather than mangrove swamps.
The Mangove Snake is a snake of two halves: a bright yellow and black head end and a blue-black back with gold rings.
Mainly nocturnal, it grows to some 2 metres length (6-8 feet) and is mildly venomous.
There are several subspecies over its range. That above with a greyer body is B. d. divergens of Polillo
Island, Luzon, the Philippines.
