The Jamaican Boa is a snake of two halves: a cryptic dark brown on light and a black, both with irridescent blue-green scales.
As its name indicates, it is native to Jamaica. It is Jamaica's largest terrestrial predator growing to some 2 metres length.
Prey, mainly rodents, bats and birds, is constricted and suffocated.
The Jamaican Boa is threatened by habitat loss.
