The Yellow Anaconda, while not quite as large as its more wellknown relative the Green Anaconda, is still a very large snake growing to some 14 feet (over 4 metres) length. Also called the Paraguayan Anaconda, it is native to Paraguay, southern Brazil, northern Argentina and eastern Bolivia.

The snake's background colour is usually golden yellow but can be light green or olive green similar to its larger cousin. The dark blotches on the back are more closely spaced and the belly lighter with black markings. They spend most of their time in shallow water. Prey includes mammals, birds, caiman, lizards and fish.
