The Oriental Fire-bellied Toad is native to Korea, northeastern China and southeastern Siberia. Despite its common name,
it is not a true toad but a warty frog.
From above, it is a camouflaged green with black cryptic markings. The underside is bright orange with black, warning
potential predators that it is toxic. The fingertips are also orange.
Although usually light green in their Asian habitat, the frogs can turn darker to blend with a darker background.
There are several other species of Fire-bellied Toad in genus Bombina in other regions of Eurasia.
The tadpoles, above, have developped their legs. The eggs are laid like frog spawn.
