Tiger Salamander
The Tiger Salamander is a "mole salamander" spending much of its time in underground burrows except when it goes to water to breed. It is native to North America. Some are more black with small yellow or pale green blotches or stripes and some have larger areas of yellow/green. They typically reach some 20cm/8 inches in length but exceptionally can be nearly double that. The young are aquatic and can, rarely, remain and reproduce in the larval form like the related Axolotl.
