Argentine Horned Frog Ceratophrys ornata

Who ate all the pies? The Argentine Horned Frog, also called the Ornate Horned/Pacman Frog is native to Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil. It eats anything it can fit in its mouth and some that it can't.

It has a slightly warty skin like a toad and can have bright red and green colouring (or "albino", as above centre). The larger females grow to over 6 inches long (round) - over 16 cm. The frogs hunt by sitting still and snapping their enormous jaws on unsuspecting, passing prey.
