The Hong Kong Whipped or Whipping Frog is a tree frog (a bush frog) native not just to Hong Kong but to a vast area of
central and southern China and much of IndoChina and the Malay Peninsula.
It is easy to see from the photos in the top row and above right how it got its unfortunate common name.
It grows to 4-7cm head/body length.
It is also called the Spot-legged Treefrog in parts of its range and doesn't always show the
reddish back markings or strong "spot-legged" markings.
