The Common Snapping Turtle is native to much of the east and midwest of North America, from eastern Canada
down to Florida and northern Texas.
In the water they are usually docile to humans (but will hide in mud), but aggressive to their own kind. Out of water,
they are extremely aggressive and snappy, with flexible, long-reaching necks.
They have a lure in their mouth to attract prey. They can live for 100 years.
