West Canary Skink WEST CANARY SKINK Chalcides viridanus The West Canary Skink is endemic to the Canary islands of Tenerife and El Hierro, the one shown on northern Tenerife. They are active by day and dusk and grow to some 18cm long (including tail).
Bridled Skink BRIDLED SKINK Heremites vittatus (prev. Mabuya vittatus) The Bridled Skink, also called Bridled Mabuya, is native to North Africa, the eastern Mediterranean and the Near East, the one shown in Cyprus. It grows to 22cm long.
Himalayan Ground Skink ALAI GROUND SKINK Ablepharus (prev. Asymblepharus) alaicus A close relative of the Himalayan Ground Skink, this skink was in the Western Tian-Shan mountains of Kazakhstan and is believed to be the Alai Ground Skink, sometimes called the Alai False Snake-eyed Skink (skinks in the genus have no eyelids). It is native to mountains of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Snout-to-vent length is typically some 6cm and total length more than double that.
