Turquoise Monitor Varanus caerulivirens

The Turquoise Monitor is a large lizard native to Indonesia's Halmahera Island and a few adjacent small islands in the Moluccas (Maluku Islands).

Large males can reach up over a metres in length. Despite the name, the lizards are mainly olive-grey with some turquoise or pale blue often apparent.

Diet is mainly crustaceans, scorpions, grasshoppers and frogs.
