Quince Monitor Varanus melinus

The Quince Monitor is native to lowland tropical forests and wetlands of the Sula Islands of Indonesia. It is a yellowish colour, more so as it ages, giving it the quince name.

It grows to 80-135cm long (including the tail). It hunts in trees and in water. The Quince Monitor is endangered, threatened by habitat loss and by collection for the wildlife trade.
