The Lace Monitor is native to forests of eastern Australia. They reach about 2 metres length, the second largest monitor lizard of Australia (and the closest living DNA to the Komodo Dragon).

They climb and swim well. There are two pattern variants: the regular (far right) and the banded (above left and centre). Bites can be mildly venomous.
