Zebra-tailed Lizard Callisaurus draconoides

The Zebra-tailed Lizard is native to deserts of the southwestern USA and northwestern Mexico.

It grows to some 6-10cm snout to vent length and is active in the daytime heat. It raises its banded black and white tail as a threat or distraction. There are several subspecies in different regions.
