Iraq Spiny-tailed Lizard Saara loricata

The Iraq(i) Spiny-tailed Lizard or Iraqi Mastigure, as its name indicates, is native to rocky desert terrain of Iraq, actually on border regions of eastern Iraq and western Iran (Mesopotamia). It grows to some 50cm long including tail. The breeding male develops a rusty red band on a black body; the female is generally a sandy brown.
