The Giant Plated Lizard, also called African Plated, is closely related to the Great Plated Lizard
Broadleysaurus major (formerly Gerrhosaurus major).
Camouflaged.
It can grow up to some 75 cm, over half of which is tail.
It is native to dry, rocky habitats of southern Africa. The armoured, flattened body allows it to wedge itself into rock
crevices to escape predators.
