The Ocellated Lizard, also called the Eyed Lizard, both after the blue dots on the side of the male, is a wall lizard native to the Iberian Peninsula and western Mediterranean Europe.
It is Europe's largest lizard, growing to over half a metre. Only the adult male has the bright green top and blue eye-spots; the female is mainly brown or brownish-green.
